Range and Purchasing Manager (IKEA Food Business)


Range & Purchasing aspects:

  • Responsible for developing and purchasing food products and ensuring the complete range is in compliance with legislative, and all suppliers are HACCP/ISO/BCI certified or hold other relevant certification
  • Responsible for the development of a strong and vital country/local range for Restaurants and Bistros and ensure that the Range presentation and Matrix is shared within IKEA Food in my country
  • Control the quality of the restaurant range by observing the technology and catering development and the industrial equipment at the suppliers by performing audits
  • Support the commercial calendar, menu development and fulfill the range matrix from IKEA Food Services
  • Monitor the market in order to benchmark producers and suppliers and optimize the country range


Food Safety aspects:

  • Passionate about the products and actively learn about their content, origins, preparation and other benefits and share this knowledge to store team in efficient way
  • Ensure a simple and straightforward internal communication and information flow, and secure that key information is understood by all IKEA Food co-workers
  • Utilize relevant reporting tools, such as profit and loss, the Functional Commercial Review, IKEA Customer Satisfaction Survey, to develop the IKEA business, and the team, and contribute to the development and implementation of the IKEA Food country Business Plan and develop and deliver my own functional Action plan
  • Challenge costs by working in a lean, simple and cost-conscious way using and sharing good idea / examples and encouraging the team and colleagues to discover smarter ways of working, and ensuring maximized profit potential throughout the country in relation to range, dish costing, on-cost management and food cost
  • Organize planned and random microbiological and other product analyses from the stores and report to IKEA Food management team as to ensure that IKEA Food Safety programs are implemented and followed in cooperation with the stores



  • Strong experience of working in vibrant food and beverage environment preferably gained in similar food service/hospitality environment
  • Extensive experience of managing/leading and developing a team
  • Experience of purchasing and negotiation skill
  • Experience of using commercial opportunities to attract visitors
  • Experience of creating long-term action plans and setting budgets and following up on goals. Proven record of meeting agreed goals
  • Decision-making and problem-solving abilities with the drive to make things happen
  • Ability to organize, plan and priorities. Takes responsibility and can delegate when necessary.
  • Self-driven and passionate about F&B and people
  • Strong English communication skills
  • MS Office literate
